How do i find a Laptop Inverters’ + & – pins?

I have an inverter i’d like to use for a project, the cable that comes from the laptop for it has about 9 pins. How would i go about figuring out which one is used for positive and negative without access to pinouts? Thanks

A volt meter would work. Seeing as current flows from negative to positive the positive wouldn’t have a charge. I have to say though if you don’t know something this simple about electricity i highly recommend you get help from someone who knows exactly what they are doing. The voltage of electricity used in homes is the most dangerous to humans (it destroys the heart, where as others only stop it).
